Handmade on Rue Saint Honoré in Paris, Astier de Villatte’s 18th-century inspired ceramics are crafted using traditional pottery techniques passed down through generations. Each Pedestal incense burner is hand-molded from black terracotta and finished with a milky-white glaze that celebrates the clay’s natural imperfections, making every piece truly one of a kind. Pair perfectly with Astier de Villatte’s collection of incense sticks.
Founded in 1996 by Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli—alongside friends from the École des Beaux-Arts—the Paris-based atelier set out to revive the forgotten beauty of decorative arts and overlooked objects. What began as a ceramics workshop soon evolved into something much larger: a letterpress printing house (one of the last in the world to use lead type), a publishing imprint, and a perfume studio. Astier de Villatte began as a quiet exchange between artists and friends, gradually building a devoted cult following—a living archive of craftsmanship where history, artistry, and imagination quietly collide.
