Rooted in generations of Japanese craftsmanship, these Handcrafted Folding Japanese Pull Saws are designed for those who value tools made to be used, cared for, and kept for years. Each saw is individually handcrafted by master artisan Mr. Sudo, with only a limited number completed in each production cycle.

Inspired by traditional Japanese pull saws, these tools cut on the pull stroke, allowing for smooth, effortless cutting with minimal force. The refined butterfly-style folding mechanism opens fluidly with one hand, while a hidden magnetic lock secures the blade firmly in place during use.

Available in two versatile sizes, the Pruning Pull Saw for general garden and pruning work, and the Compact Pull Saw created especially for florists, bonsai enthusiasts, and ikebana practitioners.

Due to the handcrafted nature of the product, wood grain and color will vary. Each saw is entirely unique.

Type of Tool: Pull Saw
Suggested use: Pruning, branch trimming, floral arranging, ikebana work, bonsai care.

Tips for Best Use:

  • Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke — apply pressure only when pulling the blade toward you.
  • Avoid applying force on the return stroke.
  • Let the saw do the work; excessive force may damage the blade.
  • Maintain a stable posture and cut in a straight line for the smoothest results.

Care Instructions

  • Keep the blade dry and clean after each use.
  • Apply camellia oil regularly to preserve the blade.
  • Store in a dry environment away from moisture to protect both blade and wooden handle.
