The Charentaise is France’s most iconic slipper, beloved for centuries for its warmth, softness, and timeless comfort. Originally crafted in the Charente region as a noble’s house shoe, today it represents the pinnacle of cozy, everyday luxury.
This special edition — the Rivalin x Le Laboureur Charentaise — is the result of a unique collaboration between two masters of French craftsmanship. Made in Brittany, it showcases burel wool, the same iconic material used in Le Laboureur’s legendary work jacket. The wool, sourced from the rare black sheep of Ouessant, retains its natural, raw color, ensuring each pair is completely unique. Anti slip soles.
Why We Love It
- Authentic Craftsmanship: 100% French-made, honoring centuries-old slipper traditions.
- Sustainable Wool: Natural burel wool from Ouessant sheep, with no dyes or treatments.
- Unmatched Comfort: The soft construction of the Charentaise makes it the ultimate house shoe.
-
A Timeless Icon: A slipper that combines heritage, warmth, and respect for the environment.
Size & Fit
In our experience, our slippers tend to run a little small, but as a general rule, it’s best to choose your usual size. Your feet may feel slightly snug for the first few hours, but the slippers will gently loosen with wear, molding to your foot and quickly giving way to the legendary comfort of the Charentaise.
-
If you often hesitate between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger of the two.
More than a slipper, the Charentaise is a piece of French textile history.
