The Niwaki Tool Care Kit keeps everything you need to clean, sharpen, and protect your garden tools together in one neat yellow toolbox. Inside you’ll find a Mini Clean Mate, Camellia Oil, Oil Dispenser, and #1000 Sharpening Stone, with a little extra room for a cloth or other essentials.

The Mini Clean Mate makes quick work of rust, sap, dirt, and grime. Simply wet it before use and gently work it across dirty blades to clean the surface.

Camellia Oil is traditionally used in Japan to protect carbon steel from rust. Odorless and non-toxic, it can also be used on kitchen knives and to condition wooden tool handles.

The Oil Dispenser provides a simple, tidy way to apply Camellia Oil. Fill the dispenser halfway, then use the wadded top to leave a thin, even coating on freshly cleaned blades.

The #1000 Sharpening Stone is our choice for regular, everyday sharpening.

Altogether, it’s an excellent introduction to proper tool care—and a particularly useful gift for anyone starting a collection of carbon steel garden tools.

Care Instructions

Clean and dry your tools before sharpening, then finish with a light coating of Camellia Oil to help protect the steel between uses. Return everything to the toolbox when finished; the front clasp keeps the contents securely together for storage or travel.

Once opened, be sure to keep the rubber stopper in the Camellia Oil bottle and replace it after each use. Without the stopper, the bottle may leak if stored on its side.
