A 5m roll of Cryptomeria cedar bark shingles, threaded together to create a flexible wrap for protecting tree trunks, and disguising ugly posts and pillars that may need camouflaging.

Sourced from Cryptomeria japonica—known as sugi in Japan—this material
comes from tall conifers not unlike our giant and coastal redwoods. Really very lovely trees.

Traditionally used in Japanese horticulture, cedar wrapping helps protect young or thin-barked trees from temperature fluctuations, pests, and accidental damage such as overzealous trimming.

  • 16 Feet Long x 4” Wide

Suggested Use

  • Begin at the base of the tree and wrap upward at a slight angle until reaching the lowest branches.
  • Cut to length and secure the end in place.
  • Avoid using wire, or tight ties, as these may damage or girdle the bark.
