Pruning sleeves/arm covers are worn by nearly all Japanese gardeners, particularly when pruning pines. They are great for protecting your wrists from resin and scratches, as well as shielding shirt sleeves from spiky needles. Niwaki’s version are elastic end (top) with a ribbed cuff (wrist end).

We love these arm covers for pruning and have even found they double as leg covers/tick protectors if you want to look cool while walking though tall grass.
