Care Instructions
Care Instructions
- With regular use, all steel blades will stain, rust, and gradually lose their edge over time. To keep your tool in top condition, clean the blades regularly with a Niwaki Clean Mate to remove sap and rust, sharpen with a Niwaki #1000 grit stone as needed, and apply a light coat of Niwaki Camellia Oil for protection.
- Japanese steel is hard and sharp, and can be more brittle than some people are used to - it will chip if abused.
- Cut diagonally across branches (not straight across) so you cut along the fibres
- Pay attention to our maximum cut dimensions, and donât overdo it.Â
