Our Italian Pastorale hat, with its wide brim and shallow crown, possesses a certain romance. Historically, this 18th century hat style became a fashion statement throughout Europe amongst the genteel class but it actually has roots in workwear... providing ample sun protection during long days of harvest and other agricultural labors.

Handmade in a longstanding small workshop in Tuscany from 100% natural straw, this hat features the classically wide brim finished with a grosgrain ribbon tie that can be worn at the front or atop the crown. For our version, we introduced an asymmetrical hat band designed to better secure the hat to the head and makes the sculptural form even more appealing.
