Limited Edition: Made in North Carolina, exclusively for Gardenheir.
It's a bit ridiculous to say a bug catcher can be a chic object, but this tabletop fly trap is just that. Inspired by an ingenious classic design from the 1800's.
Remove the glass ball stopper and carefully tip sweet liquid into the vessel and set stopper back into place. Flies will enter from the lifted bottom opening, attracted to the nectar, and get trapped inside. Catching flies isn't the prettiest of tasks, but this helps bring a little beauty into the process!
Tip: Our personal recipe! 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar + 1/4 cup sugar water (2 tsp sugar dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water), plus a drop of dishwashing liquid. Others like to use beer or honey water too.
Developed exclusively for Gardenheir, we found inspiration in the ornate handmade details of some victorian glassware we found many years ago and continued to think about. It all started with one of these antique fly traps and became the inspiration for our new glass collection of footed globe pieces.
We worked with a small North Carolina glass studio to develop this exclusive collection. Made in small batches with our glassblower, each piece is unique and slightly varied.
