Fill the sack with slightly damp fallen leaves and leave it in a cool, shady corner of the garden. By the following year, the leaves will have broken down into a wonderfully rich soil conditioner. Naturally slightly acidic, leaf mould is ideal for improving soil structure and makes an excellent mulch for beds and borders.
