Bergs Potter's Københavner Pot has royal heritage and is one of the first pots designed they designed .This noble pot is inspired by pottery made for the Royal Danish Palace of Fredensborg in 1860.
Years ago, Steffen Berg stumbled upon beautiful old clay pots at a former nursery and created the Københavner Pot, his very own interpretation of the pottery with royal origins. Today, the Københavner Pot is one of Berggs Potter's most popular designs, and their potters still make it by hand in small family-owned workshops, keeping the old traditions alive. The legacy of the Københavner Pot adds an element of regal elegance even when paired with the humblest plant.
These raw terracotta pots are frost-resistant, perfect for outdoor settings. When leaving the raw pots outside during heavy frost it is advisable to take extra precautions by ensuring they are kept dry and sheltered when possible.
The terracotta pots will develop a natural patina that evolves beautifully over time — a sign of the pot’s natural material interacting with the plant. The color changes are a result of salts and minerals from the soil and water percolating through the pores of the clay. This patina reflects the pot’s breathability and ability to absorb and release moisture, providing a healthy environment for roots to thrive. Many people cherish this look, as it captures the raw, timeless beauty of nature.
